2020 is the last year of the 5-year plan period 2015-2020, Dien Ban town is facing new opportunities and challenges that has required decisions to create a strong development step so that the town can grow faster and suitably with regional development trends, paving the way for the next period 2021-2025.
For Dien Ban, in the process of integration, the connection is the only place to receive the development of the region and Da Nang - Hoi An. Da Nang is now adjusting its planning with the goal of becoming a special city at the national level, towarding an international urban level and sustainable development, building a new vision according to the idea “building Da Nang as a “smart and green” city and having its own identity: Memorable city and worth living city ". This time, Hoi An city with the adjustment of the general urban planning towards the goal of ecological urban - cultural - tourism sustainable development in the province and the nation.
According to the region planning of Quang Nam province, the development model of the Eastern province is in the form of multi-clusters, combined with the economic axes of the province and the Central coastal region. Motivation cluster No. 1 includes Dien Ban town and Hoi An city, orienting industrial development regions with light industrial functions, consumer goods associated with services and goods transshipment warehouses; orienting tourism development areas of Hoi An - Dien Ban area with ecotourism and historical culture. In which, Hoi An urban area, Dien Ban coastal area is a big tourist center of the province meeting national and international standards. At the same time, developing the Co Co river tourist route linking waterway tourism with Da Nang city and the Thu Bon and Truong Giang riverside tours and craft villages along the river banks to connect with Western region of the province.
With geographical advantages, provincial planning orientations, socio-economic development strategy of Dien Ban town up to 2025, vision to 2030: Building Dien Ban into a dynamic urban center of the northern part of Quang Nam province and the dynamic chain of the Central Vietnam key economic region; being a service center, international tourism, high-tech industry, eco-agriculture and high technology; is a modern eco-urban linking with Da Nang and Hoi An cities.
To realize the above idea, some key tasks to be implemented in 2020 and the following years are:
- Adjust the general planning of Dien Ban urban area to urban grade 3 (and higher) on the basis of development space orientation as mentioned above. This is an important task to raise the value of Dien Ban in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to organize examination on planning and bidding contests to select consultants with enough planning level to make general planning adjustments for the new development period. Continue to develop housing and urban development projects in Dien Nam-Dien Ngoc New Urban Area and Dien Thang and Phuong An urban areas ... Complete the procedure to submit to the authority to change the model manage from commune to ward for localities meeting urban criteria.
- Develop plans and roadmaps for the implementation of Resolution 15 / NQ-HDND Dien Ban tourism development to 2025 and orientation to 2030; Resolution 16 / NQ-HDND on management and investment of industrial clusters in Dien Ban town, period 2020-2025 in order to increase the proportion of services in the Town's economic structure.
- Continue to consolidate and build new model rural communes, upproving as planned. Prepare and implement a project to build farm economy and agricultural production areas in the period of 2020-2025 .
