That is the mission of each exhibit, document, image... being kept and displayed in the system of museums, souvenirs, relics or in households in order to convey messages about history, culture, land, people... for today and future generations. Dien Ban Museum is such a place!

Dien Ban Museum is currently displaying more than 2,000 exhibits with content: History - revolution; Sa Huynh culture - Cham culture; War weapons; Antique lamp colection. In 2023, the Hoang Hoa - Dien Ban  gallery has been inaugurated on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the partnership between the two localities. This gallery designed in the style of traditional display and 3D digitization of images and artifacts. With contents such as: Multimedia library design including images and video clips introducing the two localities and exhibits as well as display space; Integrate QR code technology for each exhibit to retrieve information directly; Build a virtual tour map according to tour guide route. Users can interact with the corresponding locations on the map to preview the overview images of galleries;  images of some outstanding artifacts; videos corresponding to the display location... QR codes have contributed to increasing the effectiveness of museum content propaganda to the public near and far. Dien Ban people far from homeland or tourists can visit the gallery by the link: sohoabaotang.dienban.quangnam.gov.vn. Through the initial success of piloting 3D digitization of the specialized gallery Hoang Hoa - Dien Ban theme, the town has continued to digitize 1,000 artifacts inorder to gradually modernize display, storage and promoting efficiency in serving visitors. 3D exhibit digitization in addition to the purpose of helping viewers have more information and images through technology, creating interaction for visitors online. That also has great uses in technology of storing, preserving, and restoring artifacts and data.

Having a relatively large number of valuable exhibits, including many original exhibits in Dien Ban Museum is a great effort and determination from the Party Committee, government, and people of the town in general and Dien Ban Culture industry in particular. That shows in statistical book storing the exhibit brief history from the first day when the Museum was just established until now. I felt the efforts and enthusiasm of the brothers and sisters who worked at the Dien Ban Museum. The time's impress is clearly visible on the notebook from the color of the outside cover to the paper material and ink color inside, all are old and worn, but the words " Inventory Book" and "Quang Nam - Da Nang Museum". The first artifacts recorded in this inventory notebook were a series of artifacts had collected from March 27, 1978. This is the time when the Museum was started to build. This museum has been a cultural and historical project full of humanistic significance that the Party Committee and Dien Ban people were determined to build in the context of Dien Ban just emerging from the war with countless difficulties such as desolation, ruin, and famine. The collection and inventory work was carried out continuously from 1978 to 1985 with a large number of artifacts, most of which were revolutionary history artifacts . The inventory book and handwritten personal records were the only way to store information about the artifacts during that period. From the origin of these artifacts, anyone who lived and worked in Dien Ban during those years would surely feel the difficulties and efforts that the collectors had gone through. Traffic in the district at that time was very difficult. According to the memories in the stories told of collectors worked at the Dien Ban Museum such as Mr. Nhat, Ms. Sau, Ms. Hiep, Ms. Nhung, Ms. Chau.... With rickety bicycles - the only means of transportation at that time, they overcame the winding muddy roads, went to each house, and met the owners of the artifacts in almost every commune. In addition to the large collection campaigns, there were also collection cases as a chance encounter. The most numerous of these are stone artifacts such as the Van Tu Phu steles had been found when we accidentally stopped to wash off the mud in a ditch. The Linga had been found when we got lost on the way to a field where people were growing peanuts... In the period from around 2000 onwards, the collection work was carried out according to subjects, forming valuable collections, creating richness and diversity in types and enhancing the value of artifacts in Dien Ban museum such as: Sa Huynh culture room, Cham culture roon; ancient lamp room; war weapons room and most recently the Hoang Hoa - Dien Ban with artifacts and documents collected from two localities. The diligence and responsibility in the collection and conservation work... of many collector generations have formed a large volume of rare and precious artifacts, contributing to the characteristics of Dien Ban Museum today.

In addition to the diligence and dedication of collectors, the support and donation of the owners of the artifacts is of great decisive significance to have such a valuable number of artifacts. In the early stages of the collection campaign, in addition to the artifacts obtained from excavations and archaeology, the number of artifacts from the house holds was relatively large. The people were willing to donate the souvenirs that were associated with themselves and their families to display and preserve at the museum in order to convey the values to the public. Over time, the artifacts still kept by the people have become rare, passed down by generations of family and descendants as treasures. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with the owners who donated some artifacts to Dien Ban Museum. Each artifact has deep precious and sacred emotions. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Toa (in Cam Phu 1 hamlet of Dien Phong, Dien Ban) tearfully handed us a homemade aluminum pan: “This is a sacred family heirloom passed down from my father, Mr. Nguyen Van Toa (born in 1922, died in 2021). During the years of participating in the resistance war, from 1965, my father spent a part of his life in war at the Go Noi land. He used to use the bright American light tubes to mold this pan to cook dishes with his comrades during the difficult days in Go Noi”. Mr. Phan Minh Tam, a veteran of the 91Lam Son Special Forces Battalion, living in Cam Sa, Dien Nam Bac, was filled with emotion, he touched the toad backpack and Guigoz can. Two sacred heirlooms taccmpanied him during fighting years full of sacrifice and hardship. He said: “Every day, I kept these two objects in a glass cabinet, only for my children and grandchildren to look at but not touch. They are no longer just my personal belongings, they are witnesses to the sacrifices and losses of my comrades...". Mr. Trinh Ngoc Huong - veteran of Lam Son Special Forces Battalion , in Hoang Trinh commune, Hoang Hoa district donated 9 artifacts, including: a toad backpack, a liberation hat, a trench digging shovel, a trophy belt, a tuyn curtain, a hammock, a compass, a Soviet lingo and a piece of parachute fabric. All are souvenirs associated with Mr. Huong's heroic fighting time in Dien Ban, Quang Nam in the years 1967-1970: "... In each of these artifacts have blood, sweat, tears... not just mine. They (the artifacts) are imbued with many stories of affection, many acts of protection, care, love and also the sacrifices and losses of compatriots and comrades..."

Today, Dien Ban museum appearance has changed a lot. In the coming time, the town will continue to invest in a garden of famous people's statues along with completing a spacious walking path around the lotus lake, creating a solemn and clean space. Along with  technology application in displaying, storing and serving visitors, the meaning and value of Dien Ban Museum. The messages from the artifacts will continue to be spread and passed on to today's and future generations.
