On October, 13rd, 2014, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1874/QD-TTg approved the General Planning of Economic - Social economic in the key economic regions of Central Vietnam to 2020, the vision to 2030 urban, confirmed Dien Ban urban concentrated in the East, under the impetus of urban cluster 2, have developed synthetic function, associated with industrial and tourist resort, sea-river ecology. Previously, in March 2014, at the Scientific Workshop discussed abour Oriented link urban development Dien Ban-Da Nang and Hoi An by Dien Ban District People's Committee in collaboration with Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association and Research center of Central Vietnam chaired, many scientists, experts in Vietnam about planning and economic development confirmed the necessity of the Dien Ban new urban in the relationship with the ancient town Hoi An and Da Nang youth urban.

           In March 2014, through the realistic survey and record assessment, the Inter-ministerial Evaluation Council was chaired by the Ministry of Construction recognized Dien Ban district gained  the level 4 urban standard. The next, through records and realistic assessment, in October 2014, the Inter-ministerial Evaluation Council was chaired by the Ministry of Home Affars has completed evaluation and report to the Government that Dien Ban has enough standard to become Town and organize 7 wards under. Currently, established town records of Dien Ban has been passed by Members of the Government and are summitting the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for consideration and decision under the new provisions of Constitution 2013.

Recognizing the development of Dien Ban, we cannot stop in short-term thinking or only "we know ourselves" that we must have a vision for the role and position of this land which converges strong growth factors from the typical values of culture, history, geography and people. The problem is to build Dien Ban in any style, any identity.

 Pursuant to Decision No. 518/QD-UBND dated February 07, 2013 by Quang Nam People’s Committee  approved General urban planning Dien Ban and Decision No.222/QD-BXD dated March 10,2014 of the Ministry of Construction recognized Dien Ban has standard grade 4 urban, Dien Ban district will guide development of a mid-sized urban with 2 urban and suburban areas. Urban area is from National Route 1Ato the East. Suburban area is remaining area to the West. The position and role of each area in the development of Dien Ban urban in particular and neighboring urbans in general, there are some differences but very important and having extremely tight relationship.

In general, Dien Ban is suitable and has basis to start and orient asymptotic model of urban ecology associated with green growth - a model that the United Nations has encouraged and countries in the world have mind to develop sustainable, adapte to climate change, protect the environment, biodiversity conservation and preserved local culture. In particular, population density is heavily concentrated in the larger area will be replaced by scattered settlements, dotted harmony in a major green space of grass and water; people still enjoy the basic services of the civilized world, but life is closer to nature, jointly develop interactive rather than intrusive to accelerate the process of urbanization in anyway as traditional styles currently.
