Many organizations and individuals inside and outside the district has responded to the campaign "Day for the poor" which was implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dien Ban district because they understand of the difficulties and material deprivation and they want to contribute a part of their ability for shared effort with the poor so that there are useful deeds and creating a driving force for households to overcome adversities.

District Fatherland Front Committee lobbied total resources over VND 30 billion in the past five years. This fund has used to support building more than 2,200 houses for poor households, give means of earning a living for 448 households, provide thousand of scholarships for poor students, as well as meaningful gifts for poor households on the occasion of new spring. A range of activities with characterized humanism has created the premise for reducing the poverty rate in the district year-by-year.

Actively contributing to created jobs for the children of poor families, private enterprise Hoa Thang supplied employment for more than 300 labors in the district. This enterprise also actively supports building rural transportation, standing godfather to orphaned students, subsidizing for lonely aged people, giving passbooks and building house for policy beneficiaries and poor households with up to the billion of Vietnamese dong.

Always contributing in most of raising charity fund programs, The Nam Hai has left distinct vestiges for a long time in supporting reducing poverty for local people in particular and supporting social activities in general. The charity fund "empathetic hearts" has implemented dozens of projects including supporting educational development, give scholarships for students who are in difficult circumstances, supporting the livelihoods of poor people, funding the cost of heart surgery, giving wheelchairs for disabled people, building house for policy beneficiaries and poor households with total amount of money nearly VND12 billion. Mrs Tran Thi Canh, Vice Executive Administrative Manager of the Nam Hai Resort is considered as " Charitable emissary". As a Charitable Foundation moderator, she has made long-term development plan for the fund, has called for support, has built carefully every planning, as well as has implemented.

From deep homesickness and expecting to contribute rebuilding home land, the thousands of hearts of Dien Ban expatriates have kept together. With that good tradition, expatriates always have supported promoting the economic and social development. Dien Ban countrymen associations all over the country become  familiar addresses for the expatriates sending their hearts and material  to local poor household.

In hundreds of individuals are always willing to share difficulties with homeland people, Mr Nguyen Phi Kien is one of typical admired personalities.  His family built dozens of houses for poor people and policy households. He together with members of Go Noi countrymen association equipped with 100 computers, installed the clean water system for schools with total fund over VND one billion.

His family save Tens of millions of VND every year to provide scholarships for studious poor students.  Go Noi people must be unforgettable that Mr Kien and his wife brought the ton of rice and noodles from Ho Chi Minh city  to timely relieve for local people in flooding season.

People who live far from homeland such as Mr Than An, Mr Do Hat (Dien An commune), Mr Truong Cong Nam (Dien Thang Trung commune), Mr Nguyen Tien Duc (Dien Minh commune), Mr Nguyen Dinh Kim (Dien Phuong commune), Mr Nguyen Van Dat (Dien Quang) etc..., each person contributes the hundred of million VND to help poor people.  Especially, at homeland,  many families which is not so wealthy always help poor people. They're Mr Nguyen Van Chuoc - a retired personnel in Hamlet 1 Chau BI (Dien Tien commune), MR Nguyen Cuoc - hamlet Ha Dua (Dien Ngoc commune), Mr Vo Thuong (Quang Lang 1, Dien Nam Trung commune), Mr Nguyen Huu Canh (Lac Thanh Nam, Dien Hong commnune), Mr Tran Tu (3, Vinh Dien town), galenic physician Nguyen Duc Bon (Dien Thang Nam).

 

Dialoguing to find solutions for sustainable poverty reduction

Accompanying with the campaign "Day for the poor" and contributing in no small part in joining together and sharing with the less fortunate, religious organizations are alway enthusiastic and act  tolerance and solidarity. From the past years, religious organizations have mobilized to build houses for poor households, give gifts to children with disabilities and studious poor students, free examine health and implement "The affection porridge cooker" for poor patients in hospitals. That have somewhat shared timely and practically difficulties with the poor. Oriental medicine clinic in pagoda Pho Tinh (Ha Dong hamlet, Dien Hoa commune) has gone into service not for long but every day there are many poor patients who have be treated here. Because of being located rather far away hospitals, the emergence of this clinic has met health needs of local people and the surrounding areas. With the love and best efforts of monks and oriental medicine physicians in investing in the clinic, poor patients have been free treated here.

Let's just say that, the role of residential areas is the direct impact and the key to reduce poverty. Many activities such as advocacy for helping the poor to repair house, loan for livestock development, implement the capital revolving contribution program ... Many residential areas take the lead in reducing poverty and the rate of poor households are reduced gradully over time.

Mr Huynh Tho, who lives in Viem Minh hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune, is innate deaf and dumb. He has two young children and his family is in the poor category  for several years. Village government mobilize people to support for Mr Tho reparing house, finding a job for  his wife. The farmer’s union chapter went bail for him loaning VND 8.000.000 to buy cows.

However,  the campaign "Day for the poor" does not mean, if the households don't have fortitude and courage to rise to escape poverty. Many of hundreds of poor households receiving loan assistance, equipped with working knowledge ... step by step have had a successful career as the expectation benefactors and many households are starting to a life of comfort.

Mrs Le Thi Tho, a widow who lives in Phu Tay hamlet, Dien Quang commune, had passed through many hardships. Her husband early died and left her with three small children. The poverty followed her until  she has received the embrace of family relatives in helping to build house. Thanks to supporting loan, she has known how to do business and educate her children by sending to schools and colleges. Both of them took degrees at the university and college and have stable jobs in Ho Chi Minh city.

Located on city blocks 4 (Vinh Dien town), wood machining facility of veteran Duong Hien Sy is always busy. Customers are more and more. But few know that this war veteran had spent the penury. After a long time the treatment of his wife and over-indebted, she died and he worked hard to pay dept and provide adequate education for his four children. With the determination escape poverty as well as the support of local government and front, his family has a stable life with the farming and step by step building wood machining facility. His facility not only creates job for himself but also trains and arranges employment for local laborers. He has the honour of being given the title Farmer is good at production and business 2014 by Vinh Dien town.

The unanimously determination of departments and levels along with the close cooperation between organizations, individuals in the district and the sons of Dien Ban district who are companion for the Poor, in the hope that miserable life scenes in the district will considerably reduce to contribute to build the strong, rich, and civilized Dien Ban town in near future.
