About new rural construction, three communes including Dien Quang, Dien Trung, Dien Phong achieved 19/19 criterias and were recognized new rural by Quang Nam Provine. About socio-culture, there were 64/68 schools achieving national standard in the district, in which there were 18 schools reached level 2 standard. The whole district has 92.4 percent households, 130/182 hamlets, 08 communes and 91.2% agencies, units achieving cultural standard, 07 streets were recognized civilized urban street standard. In 2014, 5600 laborers were settled employment, reaching 100 percent of  targets determined by the provine, 159 projects supporting employment were disbursed for loan with the total of lending up to VND 3.43 billion. Political security has maintained continuously, national defence and local military activities  are strengthened well implementing.

Political system have focused on strengthening; the quality of management activities and administration of levels of government have enhanced, ensuring leadership requirements for local development tasks. Hea Party development and political system developing had many positive results. In 2014, there were 205 new party members in the whole district, up 11.4 % from 2013, exceeding 36.6%. 35 party members were disciplined, up 6 % from 2013. Among that, The Inspection Committee of District Party Committee reproved 01 member of Party Standing Committee, warned 05 party members, expelled 01 party member; Party Commitee and party cell under the Party Committee reproved and warned 28 party members.

Public relations and Front construction, unions are well implemented  by Party Committees; organizations in the political system strengthened coordinating,  implementing, improving the effectiveness of public relation programs and towards the advocacy for implementing new rural construction program and urban development of the district.
