In the morning of 08.24.2016, in Le Belhamy Hội An Resort (Điện Bàn, Quảng Nam), Quảng Nam People's Committee in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Vietnam Union of Science Scientific organised scientific workshop "Thanh Chiem palace and Vietnamese script ". With the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Tran Quoc Khanh (Deputy Minister of Science and Technology), Historian Duong Trung Quoc, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep (Institute of Linguistics) and Dr. Le Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam province, Mr. Tran Uc - Deputy Secretary of Party Committee, Chairman of Dien Ban People's Committee.

Opening remark, Mr. Le Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People's Committee emphasized the history role of Thanh Chiem palace. The palace is likened to cultural economic and political center of Dang Trong from 17th-18th century. Besides, Catholicism was introduced to Thanh Chiem early in Dang Trong. Priest Francisco de Pina had laid the foundation for the study of Vietnamese script formation here.
With 70 valuable papers, articles of domestic and foreign managers, scientists and priests, organization Board has synthesized, edited and printed into Proceedings of workshop. Authors mention to many different problem beside Thanh Chiem palace, Vietnamse script.
There were 10 papers of Nguyễn Văn Đang, Mai Vẫn Được, Châu Yến Loan ... in Topic 1. The authors of these papers confirmed Dáng Trong - Quảng Nam - Thành Chiếm - Champa. The authors discuss the causes, time, palace mark in history and objectives of Nguyen Hoang in founding Thanh Chiem palace in order to serve security and sovereignty.
Topic 2: Thanh Chiem Palace and the birth of Vietnamese Script. The authors, such as Nguyen Duc Nhue, Bui Van Tieng ... attracted especially attention from a large number delegates. This is considered the main topic with 30 papers (nearly 50%). To confirm the important role of Thanh Chiem in the formation and spread of Vietnamese alphabet. To affirm that the priest Francisco de Pina was the most fluent in Vietnamese, he was also the one who laid the foundation for the introduction of Vietnamese alphabet in Thanh Chiem in the early 17th century.
Mr. Le Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People's Committee said that this workshop clarify the role, place and process of development of Thanh Chiem palace,.the local government also hopes it will is the basis for setting up scientific profile to request to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and tourism recognizing historic monument at national level.
